How to Trust Your Intuition During a Spiritual Awakening

Sometimes a new beginning doesn't look anything like the life you planned.

Sometimes, life seems to say no over and over again until you're forced to pause, listen more deeply, and ask yourself: What if there's another way?

I've learned that spiritual awakening isn't always about having all the answers. Sometimes it's about learning to hear your inner wisdom—and daring to trust what you hear.

I want to tell you a story of new beginnings.

I hope that you will discover a deep, powerful truth of who you really are through the telling of my journey.

Here we go.

When Life Keeps Saying No

This past spring, everything that could go wrong with our RV and off-grid setup… did.

Water well issues. Systems failing. One thing after another, after another.

If you've ever had a season where life just keeps saying NO, you know the exact flavor of exhaustion I'm talking about.

We needed a rental while we regrouped—which, in my tiny town, is like finding a unicorn.

But we found one.

And here's the strange part: the moment I walked through the community and into the house, I felt at home.

Not "this is a nice rental" at home.

HOME home.

When Your Inner Wisdom Gets Your Attention

This sign was hanging there waiting for me.

I knew I was supposed to see it and take it in.

I knew somehow, in my gut at that moment, looking at the sign, that I was supposed to move to this lakeside community.

But that was crazy.

My husband and I had spent YEARS planning to build on our mountaintop property. That was the plan. That had always been the plan.

But this knowing in my gut was so strong it took me over—and after deepening my meditation and intuition practice, I've learned what that particular signal means:

Pay attention.

This is one of the things I've come to understand about intuition: it doesn't always arrive as a perfectly formed answer.

Sometimes it's simply a knowing.

A feeling.

A quiet inner nudge that keeps getting your attention.

And sometimes learning to trust your intuition means becoming willing to listen before you understand.

Learning to Trust Your Intuition

Then I found out our Airbnb host was ALSO the realtor for the little lake community we were staying in.

Could this be a sign?

And my whole body said YES.

My sweet husband—who has learned to trust my intuitive whims even when they turn our life sideways—went with the flow.

He told me he trusted my intuition was leading us to a new beginning.

So the house search began.

And dear friend… I had NO idea what the universe had planned for us.

It was certainly not what I thought it was.

Spiritual Awakening and New Beginnings

Looking back, I can see that this wasn't simply a story about finding a house.

It was a story about listening.

About slowing down enough to hear what was happening beneath the plans, expectations, and ideas I had carried for years.

And maybe you've experienced something similar.

Maybe you're in the middle of a major life transition.

Maybe the path you carefully planned no longer feels like your path.

Maybe you're experiencing a spiritual awakening and discovering that your inner knowing is asking you to reconsider something you thought was already decided.

Or maybe you're simply exhausted from trying to figure everything out with your mind.

I've learned that inner wisdom can become easier to hear when we create enough stillness to notice it.

Meditation helped me.

So did developing my intuition.

And, perhaps most importantly, learning to recognize the difference between the fearful voices inside me and that quieter, deeper knowing.

That skill is learnable.

And it doesn't require you to abandon reason or stop making practical decisions. For me, intuition became another source of information—something I could listen to alongside my mind, my experience, and the people I trust.

What Comes Next

So the house search began.

And dear friend… I had NO idea what the universe had planned for us.

It was certainly not what I thought it was.

There is more to this story.

But the deeper lesson for me wasn't really about the house.

It was about what happens when we become willing to listen to the wisdom within us—even when that wisdom asks us to consider a path we never expected to take.

Everything I've learned through this journey keeps bringing me back to the same truth:

Your inner wisdom is already speaking.

Sometimes we simply need to become quiet enough to hear it.

And brave enough to trust it.
